Designs of the Future is a design-build outdoor living crew serving Kansas City, Leavenworth, Olathe and the KS metro since 2019. One crew handles the design, the build, and the cleanup.

Design
We come out, walk the yard, and lay the whole project out with you: materials, layout, and a clear price before a shovel moves.
- 02
Build
One crew handles the whole build: grading, base, hardscape, deck, and lighting. We clean the site up at the end of every day.
- 03
Walkthrough
We walk the finished space with you and fix anything that needs it. It is not done until you are using it.

Six ways we build out a backyard

Paver patios & hardscaping
Paver and flagstone patios, walkways, and seat walls, set over a compacted base so they stay flat and level.
Retaining walls
Block and natural-stone retaining walls that hold the grade, terrace a slope, and drain the way they should.
Outdoor lighting
Deck, path, wall, and accent lighting wired in so the yard still works after the sun goes down.
Water features
Fountains, bubbling boulders, and pondless waterfalls, plumbed and set to run clean and quiet.
Landscape design
Full landscape design and installation: grading, beds, plantings, and the layout that ties the whole yard together.

Our mission has not changed since we started: quality work, clear communication, and getting the small details right from the first walkthrough to the last. We do everything we can to build the space you pictured, and we love seeing a yard come together at the end.
Because owner Edy Alvarado runs the jobs, you talk to the person doing the work, not a call center. We keep the site clean while we build and we do not disappear before it is finished.
